Dr Mark Rainbird’s Bio
Dr. Rainbird has over 30 years’ experience in business and Government. He has extensive operating, investment banking, private equity, merger and acquisition, investment management, pre-IPO and venture capital experience.
He is the co-founder and Director of BlueMount Capital Pty Limited (Investment Banking), founder and Managing Director of BlueMount Capital (Qld) Pty Ltd (Investment Banking), Funding Strategies Pty Ltd (Venture Capital).
He is an expert in venture capital transactions and capital raising (small-scale offerings and private placements) and manages a team of 10 in Brisbane. Mark’s senior executive and director roles have spanned ASX-listed, private and government entities as well as the industry sectors of heavy industry, mining, information technology, consulting and financial services. He has a proven track record in the mining, agriculture, property, healthcare and technology sectors, providing corporate advisory, merger and acquisition, in the unlisted, pre-IPO and listed capital market space.
Mark grew up in the central Queensland town of Biloela in the heart of the agriculturally rich Callide Valley, and worked on a number of pastoral and agricultural enterprises including onion, cotton, lucerne, beef and horse stud enterprises during his youth. Over the years he has worked with a wide variety of agricultural based businesses and technologies (and encompassing supply chains) in an corporate advisory capacity.
With an extensive business network, he has been able to help companies to develop their funding strategies, raise capital and provide an exit for the company and their investors.
Dr. Mark Rainbird is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics, and a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours (Griffith University) and was a visiting scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology during his Ph.D. He has authored a number of cited scientific articles and papers and a patent application.
